Early-Stage Specialist Advice
You do not need to arrive with a finished fuel-system solution. BMS Group gets involved before project planning begins, helping your team work out what is needed and why.

BMS reviews your existing fuel infrastructure and surveys the site to establish condition, constraints and risks, giving you a reliable baseline before any decisions are made.
We help you set the scope, priorities and practical options, and develop an early solution and equipment approach that fits the site, your requirements and your wider plans.
The consultancy gives your project team a clear, well-defined starting point. Where required, BMS can continue into project planning, coordination and delivery.
Works consultancy is the very first stage of a fuel infrastructure project, before project planning begins. BMS Group helps you understand what you have, what needs to change and what the realistic options are, so later planning and design decisions are built on clearly defined requirements.
The RIBA Plan of Work is the UK framework most design teams use to organise a building project into eight stages, from 0 (Strategic Definition) to 7 (Use). BMS works consultancy sits at the front end, across Stages 0–2: Strategic Definition (why the fuel infrastructure needs to change), Preparation and Briefing (understanding the existing system and surveying the site) and Concept Design (defining the scope, options and early equipment approach). Using the same stages as your architect and project manager means the fuel elements are planned in step with the rest of the scheme.
BMS can support your existing project team as the specialist fuel-infrastructure adviser, providing fuel-system advice and early input alongside your PM, architect, M&E consultant and other advisers. Where required, BMS can take a more active role, planning and coordinating the specialist fuel-infrastructure package with designers, suppliers, civils, electrical, controls and installation teams.
As early as possible, and especially if you know something needs replacing but are not sure what, your fuel infrastructure is ageing or poorly documented, you are considering a new facility or major upgrade, or your wider team needs specialist fuel-system input before the project is planned.
At the end of Stages 0–2 BMS provides a fuel-infrastructure package your team can build into its stage outputs and project brief: survey findings, defined requirements and priorities, practical options, an early equipment approach and the civils, electrical and controls interfaces to be coordinated. Where BMS is appointed to continue, the same understanding carries through Stage 3 (Spatial Coordination), Stage 4 (Technical Design and specialist packages), Stage 5 (Manufacturing and Construction), Stage 6 (Handover, testing and commissioning) and Stage 7 (Use, maintenance and future upgrades).

No. You do not need to arrive with a finished fuel-system solution. BMS Group helps your team establish what is needed and develop a practical solution and equipment approach. BMS can work alongside your PM, architect, M&E consultant and other advisers, or take a more active role coordinating the specialist fuel package where required.
BMS reviews and records the existing tanks, pipework, dispensing and controls, and establishes their condition, site constraints and risks, giving you a reliable baseline before any decisions are made.
Works consultancy covers RIBA Stages 0–2: Strategic Definition, Preparation and Briefing, and Concept Design. BMS can then continue to support the fuel-infrastructure package through Stages 3–7, from Spatial Coordination and Technical Design through construction, handover and use.
The package gives your project team the fuel-infrastructure information it needs for its RIBA stage outputs and brief: survey findings, defined requirements and priorities, practical options, an early equipment approach and the interfaces with civils, electrical and controls.
Yes. Where required, BMS can continue into project planning, coordination, procurement and delivery, through to commissioning, handover and ongoing support.
