Big, bright LED totaliser displays for hazardous and hard-to-read locations, digits up to 200mm high that can be read from as far as 90 metres, certified for ATEX Zone 2 and 22.
At loading gantries, fuel terminals, airfields and large industrial sites, operators often need to see a meter reading from across a yard, a cab or a control room window. A standard register display simply isn’t visible at that distance – especially outdoors, at night or in bad weather. The BMS Large LED Totaliser puts the figures on a bright, oversized display that can be read at a glance.
Developed by BMS together with a UK display manufacturer, the range is available with character heights of 50mm, 120mm, 150mm or 200mm, giving viewing distances from around 20m up to 90m (65–300ft). Single- and two-line layouts are offered, so you can show a running total alone or pair it with a second value such as a batch or flow rate. LEDs come in green, red or yellow, with indoor or high-brightness outdoor options.
The displays are built for hazardous areas, with ATEX certification for Zone 2 gas and Zone 22 dust atmospheres (II 3 G Ex nR IIC T6 Gc / II 3 D Ex tc IIIC T85°C Dc) and IP66 sealing. Enclosures are available in 316L or 304 stainless steel or painted mild steel, for wall or suspended mounting, and thermostatic heaters extend operation down to -25°C.
Integration is flexible. The display can be driven by most electronic registers and flow computers, by a Veeder-Root 7887 or 7886 mechanical register fitted with a suitable pulser, or directly from the meter via a direct-mount pulser. Inputs include RS232 and RS485 serial, Ethernet TCP/IP, contact closure and industrial fieldbus protocols such as Modbus TCP, PROFIBUS and PROFINET, with 100–240V AC or 11–30V DC power.
Each display is built to order to suit your application. For outdoor aviation refuelling without the need for power, see the BMS Large Figure Mechanical Totaliser. Contact BMS for the product brochure, a specification or a quote.
